Sarah Palin hates Brian Williams, Sarah Palin hates the media, because they supposedly tell lies about her - But the liar, as always, is Sarah Palin herself!

Sarah Palin is virtually begging us to write a new post about her, so I guess we have no real choice. Sarah, the eternal victim, struck again in her latest facebook post. She asks her readers to "read it through", and yes, why not. Her post isn't exactly Shakespeare, but she obviously has something very important to tell us.

The summary of her facebook post: According to Sarah Palin, NBC-reporter Brian Williams is a liar, the media constantly lies, they all first and foremost love to spead lies about Sarah Palin, and Sarah Palin assures her readers that she definitely is"my son's mother." 

So what exactly does she say?

She says that Brian Williams falsely claimed that Palin tried to ban books from the Wasilla public library, and writes:

My parents just reminded me that right after my acceptance speech at the RNC in 2008, Brian Williams repeated on national television a completely false story that I banned books while I served in office. He did so by reading on air a completely false op-ed by another unethical character who's never clarified nor apologized for including that outrageous censorship lie, among many others. (Thanks, Joe Klein, hope you're keeping it classy.) Those lies – proclaimed on air as if Williams was merely reporting "the news" – were heard by many that night. Lies like that were like a gut punch to my parents that knocked down the foundation of trust they've lived their good lives upon, for they realized, defenselessly, the power of a corrupt press. The media lies rung a bell that can never be “un-rung.” In the minds of millions of Americans, I was tainted as an anti-First Amendment book banning wacko. Brian Williams lied about me in order to affect the way I would be perceived by Americans during the 2008 election. He lies. There is no other way around it. But what’s especially disgusting is the way his corrupt colleagues covered for him. I have never and will never let the shroud of victimization cover me – God's given me way too many undeserved blessings to dishonor His goodness by wasting time crying "victim" – but I'm happy to recall the hundreds of Palin-centric false reports if it helps America understand you must never trust JournoList-types. (Well, not exactly "happy" to do it, but willing – all the whilst throwing up a little bit in my mouth, believing the reason the harshness perpetuates may be for others' edification.)

So, first question: Did Brian Williams in fact say anything about the "book banning story" back in 2008? I couldn't find any confirmation for this on the internet. However, what I did find was that Brian Williams actually gave Sarah Palin the opportunity to make a comment about the "book banning allegations," in an interview he conducted with her on October 24, 2008. So Brian Williams actually gave her the chance to set the record straight, and Sarah herself immediately jumped on this opportunity and created the meme of the "media victim", her favorite role up until this day.

This particular part of this interview was for example back in 2008 included in a news broadcast (from about 2:00):

The mainstream media did actually look in these allegations about the book banning, and for example ABC News back in 2008 published an excellent, balanced and factual report on this issue:

Even this very balanced report by ABC News still did not look good for Sarah Palin at all, and given her long track record of vindictive behavior, it is hardly surprising that she hates the media with a passion. If there is one thing that Sarah Palin has always hated, it is to be investigated.

But there is another, even more important thing about the above mentioned interview by Brian Williams with Sarah Palin from October 24, 2008. First the first and only time in public during the 2008 campaign, a reporter actually pressed Sarah Palin for her medical records. In doing so, Brian Williams committed the cardinal sin. If there is one thing that Sarah Palin did not want anyone to see in 2008 or after, it was her medical records.

In the interview with him, she promised Brian Williams to hand the records over, but nothing happened, up until the day before the election, when Sarah Palin's campaign suddenly released a rather strange medical letter. This letter dealt more with Sarah Palin being Trig's mother, than with anything else concerning her medical history.

It may have come as a surprise for some political observers in 2008 that Sarah Palin was not really in the mood to show her medical records, but at home in Alaska, nobody should have really been surprised. As veteran Alaska journalist Michael Carey already confirmed in a TV-interview in September 2, 2008 during the Republican National Convention, it was an open secret at home in Alaska that Sarah Palin actually did not give birth to her "son" Trig:

Note: Back in 2008, this remarkable interview with Michael Carey was quickly buried in an obscure internet archive, and was not really seen by anyone. We only "rescued" it from there later in 2009, and made it available to a broad audience.

So what else is Sarah Palin concerned about? Oh yes, the lies of the media about her, as she explains again for the 1000x time in her latest facebook post:

Let’s consider the herd mentality these journalists use to empower and cover for each other. It’s precisely the way a corrupt organization works, like a crime syndicate. Remember the “JournoList” scandal where hundreds of prominent members of the media were finally exposed for operating a secret internet chat group to strategize on how they would cover (read: spin) the news of the day to fit their leftwing agenda, regardless of truth? I haven't forgotten. They would stop at nothing. I was aware of their collective unethical character not only because my college degree was earned using the complete opposite journalism tactics of JournoList's, but also because I lived it first hand as they began their relentless BS about my family, my hometown, and my record when I was asked to come on the national scene in 2008.

There is a serious problem with the liberal media’s herd mentality. It's too late for their mea culpa because they've already lost America’s trust, and that is a dangerous thing. But while they're still on our airwaves, they need to clean up their act as the rest of us turn to new media that will be held accountable. A free press is a cornerstone of our democracy. They have the tools to be our watchdogs, not liars and lapdogs for the powers that be.

The "JournoList"...? I had written about the these emails in details for example here, and the emails show how at the beginning of September 2008, journalists try to come to terms with the discovery that Sarah Palin might not be Trig's biological mother. At the end, however, the journalists decide that this subject should be buried, due to the fear of negative political repercussions.

Yes, Sarah Palin, a free press indeed is the "cornerstone" of any democracy. Oh well, I found something that we and Sarah Palin can agree on! Miracles do sometimes happen.

The only problem with the free press is that they, much to Sarah's displeasure, have the habit to ask pesky questions. One day they want to see Sarah Palin's medical records, the other day they wonder whether Sarah Palin actually is the biological mother of Trig, and the next day they might ask which university degree Sarah Palin has obtained.

Sarah Palin's strange journey through four universities and colleges (not counting the University of Hawaii) in five years in three different states has been well documented and researched, for example by the blog Palingates in 2010. However, nobody could so far conclusively answer the following question: Ẁhich degree did Sarah Palin actually obtain in the end?

This question is very relevant indeed, as Sarah Palin over the years based her constant criticism of the media also on the fact that she herself has profound knowledge on this subject, due to a rather unspecified degree in "journalism" that she claimed to have obtained from the University of Idaho. She does this again in the latest facebook post, and says:

"I was aware of their collective unethical character not only because my college degree was earned using the complete opposite journalism tactics of JournoList's..."

OK, let's see. While nobody has seen a copy of Sarah Palin's college or university degree, there is some other fact that many people are not aware of, and which was revealed by author Geoffrey Dunn in his excellent, very well sourced and researched book "The Lies of Sarah Palin", published in 2011. Dunn's book is required reading for anyone who wants to get to know the "real" Sarah Palin.

Geoffrey Dunn revealed in his book for the first time that a document exists in which Sarah Palin actually explained herself which degree (or degrees...) she supposedly holds - and this is a "notarized" document.

Geoffrey Dunn writes (pages 56 and 57):

Just a few weeks ealier, Palin had submitted an application to the city of Palmer for the position of police dispatcher. It is a fascinating document. Attached to it was a one-page resume, which included some classic Palin schmaltz and self-promotion. Under her "strengths", she declared: "Lifelong resident of Alaska. An innate ability to 'be in the right place at the right time.'"

Palin signed that everything in the document "is true or complete to the best of my knowledge" and that "any intentional misrepresentation or omission" would disqualify her from employment and "may be considered for immediate discharge from employment." The document was notarized on March 12, 1996.

Rather than list her home address, Palin listed a post office box in Wasilla. She also noted that she was "unemployed" at the time of the application and curiously checked the "yes" box when asked: "If you are under 18 years of age, can you provide required proof of your eligibility to work?" She was thirty-two at the time. She checked every box in terms of her availibility - full time, part time, shift work, and temporary.

Under the listing of "Education", she declared that had graduated from Wasilla High in 1982 with a "college prep" course of study. In respect to her "Undergraduate College", she listed solely the University of Idaho, where she indicated that she had completed five years, with a course of study in "Political Science/Journalism" - in that order. On her resume accompanying the application, she says that she completed a minor in "political science" and also added "political science studies" to her list of "specialized training."

And then comes a more curious representation. Under "Graduate Professional" education, she declared "Post-Grad General Studies" for one year. Just where this graduate school education took place she did not indicate, nor has there ever been a record of such postgraduate work made public by Palin, in her memoir or elsewhere.

In a sworn deposition, taken in 1998 for a case related to her performance as mayor of Wasilla, she was asked, "And did you have any further degrees or seek any further education (following your graduation from the University of Idaho)?"

PALIN: Yes, seeking a - hopefully - will be able to some day work further for a master's degree.

So there you have it. Not only did Sarah Palin lie in this notarized document from 1996 about her "postgraduate" studies and distorted her checkered college history. In addition, she also mentioned a "minor" in Political Science which has been absent from all the following "descriptions" about her college history. Furthermore, she did not specify which degree she actually obtained. Finally, as we will show below, Sarah Palin never studied "Journalism."

As a reminder, this Sarah Palin's actual "college history", excluding her "aborted" attempt to attend the University of Hawaii:

Spring 84: Out of school.

Therefore the liar is Sarah Palin, and has always been. It is apparent that she had "delusions of grandeur" from an early point onward, and that her own self-perception is at odds with reality.

Sarah Palin entertains the notion that she holds some sort of "important" degree in journalism, and even Wikipedia states:

"Palin returned to the University of Idaho in January 1986, and received her bachelor's degree in communications with an emphasis in journalism in May 1987."

It appears highly doubtful whether this is true. What exactly Sarah Palin received from the University of Idaho has never been seen by anyone, and it is certainly no coincidence that Sarah Palin never showed the original copy of her "degree" from the University of Idaho to anyone, although she talks about her "degree" at every given opportunity.

One thing is obvious, however: Sarah Palin did not receive a degree in "Journalism", nor did she study "Journalism." 

This is already proven beyond doubt through the original yearbook excerpts from the University of Idaho from 1987. In this yearbook, she is listed there under "Communications", and not "Journalism" (click to enlarge)

In a Bloomberg article from September 2008, it is even mentioned that Sarah Palin supposedly received a "Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism." But this assertion definitely seems to be false. In fact, there seems to be great confusion virtually everywhere what exactly Sarah Palin received from the University of Idaho.

In her "autobiography "Going Rogue", Sarah Palin is particularly clever.

There she says, on page 45 (italics by me):

"I planned on a political science minor because I loved studying U.S. history and government and knew poli sci would mesh well with a journalism major."

But she actually never studied journalism, and there is no evidence of a completed "political science minor" as well.

Then, in typical Palin-fashion, her autobiography contains no more information about Palin's degree! Nothing!

It APPEARS to the reader that she got this degree that she "planned", but Palin actually never confirms this.

Some people think Sarah Palin is dumb, but she actually is a master in deception.

But let's move on. Sarah Palin ends her latest facebook post on a very curious note. In the post, she mentions the "JournoList" emails from September 2008, in which the participants discuss Trig's strange birth story, and which were published by the Daily Caller only in 2010.

The last sentence of her post then reads like this:

Thanks for hearing me out. And, *sigh*, for the umpteenth time – for the benefit of the most unprofessional among the herd who will never clarify nor apologize – yes, I am my son's mother.

Well, many thanks to you, Sarah Palin, for bringing this subject up again. Sarah, you may be your son's "mother" in the sense that you in your head somehow you formally regard him as your "son", or you might very well have adopted him, but you definitely did not give birth to him, as half of Alaska knows, and as virtually every journalist knows by now as well.

The fact that Sarah Palin is still raving mad about the fact that the media had the audacity to question her "pregnancy" with Trig (with very good reasons), and that she brings this subject up at every given opportunity, just as her "degree" in journalism, is reason enough for me to believe that this is actually the issue that stopped her from running for president in 2012. Although I have no "hard proof" for this conclusion, I am convinced that this is the truth, and I am sure that somebody from her inner circle will spill the beans sooner or later, after the SarahPAC-money has finally run out.

In 2010 and 2011, Sarah Palin had almost everything prepared for her run for president: She had published a (ghostwritten) "serious" book about policy called "America by Heart", her "supporters" even created a massive propaganda film called "The Undefeated", which was just one big campaign commercial, and her minions had even started to create a volunteer organization on the ground called "Organize 4 Palin". She continued to grace the covers of various major magazines, for example "Newsweek" with the headline "I Can Win" in July 2011:

Sarah Palin's run for president seemed inevitable.

But then, there was suddenly trouble in paradise.

In April 2011, Professor Brad Scharlott from Northern Kentucky University published a research paper about Sarah Palin's pregnancy with Trig, concluding that Sarah Palin faked her pregnancy with Trig. Even after the publication of this paper, Professor Scharlott remained outspoken and started for example to give interviews.

Through the combined effort of the "Trig Truthers", the issue of Sarah Palin's pregnancy finally got noticed by the mainstream again. While most of the media outlets still flatly denied that there could have been anything wrong with Sarah Palin's pregnancy, and even published phony "debunkers", there were exceptions. The most important exception came from an unexpected source: Henry Blodget, publisher of the mainstream media outlet "Business Insider."

Today, it has almost been forgotten how visibly the issue of Sarah Palin's pregnancy was in the headlines in 2011. The headlines from "Business Insider" from 2011 proved that the subject could not have been ignored any longer, and we are very grateful to Henry Blodget for being brave enough to pursue this subject.

Henry Blodget was no fool - and Sarah Palin had no answer. She could not produce a birth certificate for Trig. 

Then, on October 5, 2011, the seemingly unthinkable happened, which shocked Sarah Palin's supporters to the core:

Sarah Palin hit a brick-wall, as her lies caught up with her.

UPDATE: One of our readers sent us the copy of the comments at "Conservatives4Palin", from the day when the news broke that Palin won't run for president in 2012. These comments by the mostly deeply shocked Palin-fans have now apparently been removed by the website. They make for fascinating reading, and they are basically a "historical" document.

Now, we continue to witness the decline of a woman who is slowly going insane due to the fact that her secrets and lies brought her down, but who on the other hand has to uphold the impression that she has been the victim of the evil media, in order to save face.

It is not a pretty sight.

Bill Maher had a field day with Sarah Palin during his most recent segment about her, talking about the fall-out from her disastrous Iowa-speech:

If Sarah does not stop giving speeches, there will be more where this is coming from.

But as we already know, she will never stop. In her head she still has this idea that she is great, that she can beat anybody, and that one day, she will win. And if she does not achieve what she is looking for, then there can be only one possible explanation: That she is the biggest media victim that has ever lived. At least this is full time job: Sarah Palin, the eternal victim.

Boots on the Ground at the New Hampshire Rally with James Taylor and President Obama!!

How was your day?  Want to hear about mine?  ;-)  I spent Saturday up in Nashua, NH at the Obama rally!

I got there around 10:30 (for an event slated to start around 2), parked and walked a few blocks toward the school.  There were a lot of police redirecting everyone, and streets closed, of course.  This was one of the first things I saw, just behind the school where the rally would take place.  A little sobering, but I’m glad they were prepared!  

After the police shunted me on a detour a few blocks around the school, I finally found the end of the line, which was about 5 blocks long at that point, and not moving at all.  (Note in this picture, the line goes down the block on one side, back up in the middle of the road, and then back down again on the far sidewalk.)  At this point I was wishing I had one of the coveted “green tickets” that seemed to let people in via a very short line, or that I had worn my trusty walking cast so they would have let me in the ADA entrance (only kidding; that would have been cheating). 

I got to talking to people nearby, and wouldn’t you know it but one of the women I met is a NH woman whose brother lives a few doors down the street from me – small world!  The advance information said they wouldn’t start letting people in until noon, so we were all really happy to see the line starting to move pretty quickly around 11:10; I was through security in less than a half hour.

It was a bit of an odd set-up because I think the original plan was to be indoors, but it was such a nice, warm day (unusual for the last week of October in NH), and the crowd was so big that they opted to be outside.  They had bleachers at either end of a large space about 400-500 feet long, with two stages – one about a third of the way down, set up for the musicians, and the other toward the far end, set up for the President.  So, where to go?  I could have gotten a seat on the bleachers near the entry, but it was so far from the stage that I decided to stand.  (My feet have not yet forgiven me.)  I ended up in a spot in between the two stages, which was actually a pretty good location as it turned out. 

At this point it was about 11:45, and President Obama wasn’t due on stage until around 2 p.m., so this gave us all a lot of time to look around, chat with people nearby, and try to find the best spot to be able to see, given that there was barely room to move.  The crowd near me was surprisingly diverse (NH is not very diverse; I say this as someone who went to school, lived and worked in NH).  There were quite a few people of color; numerous Spanish-speaking people within earshot; many children, teens, twenty-somethings, and all ages up to white-haired folks.  Given the highly touted gender gap and NH’s “Live Free or Die” motto, I’m happy to report that there were a lot of men; in fact, to pass time I came up with my own “profile” of the older male Obama supporter near me (grey/white hair, baseball cap, fleece, glasses, mustache). Lots of younger men too, some in suits. The tall ones all seemed to be in front of me. Many women of all ages, colors, shapes and sizes.  It was good to see small groups, chatting spontaneously while we passed the time.

We knew that the President was nearby when a helicopter started circling and we saw this guy on the school roof.  He looked a little scary, but I think we were all grateful for the work he does. 

A while later, someone to my left jostled me to try to get through the crowd – imagine my surprise to have up close and personal contact with the Secret Service!  I have even more respect for the incredibly hard job they have to do to protect the President in such crowds.

Mercifully sooner than I expected, the program got underway.  Maybe they started early because the place was full, and they were turning people away.  After the Pledge, a teenage girl did a beautiful rendition of the National Anthem; only when she went off stage did we realize that she is blind.  There was a benediction, then a short welcome and firedup-readytogo rallying call from a young field organizer; I expected all the state Democratic candidates to be there making short speeches, but that did not happen.  Nirvana.

Next we had a HUGE treat – James Taylor performed a wonderful set, including quite a few of my all-time favorites.  I was not very far away from that stage – maybe 50 feet or so – and I could not believe we were all being treated to this fantastic, free concert!  He sang How Sweet It Is; Sweet Baby James; Fire and Rain; You’ve Got a Friend; I Feel Fine; Mexico; Carolina on My Mind; Shower the People With Love; and a couple more that I am forgetting right at the moment. His voice sounded even better than on recordings – he and his musicians (including cellist from the Boston Symphony Orchestra) were fabulous!  He also spoke about how important this election is, and made a strong pitch for re-electing President Obama, leading a “4-more-years” chant.  "Vote for President Obama and give him a Congress he can work with." I kind of doubt that James Taylor is the “warm up act” very often, and I want to publicly tip my hat to him and say how much I appreciate having heard him today - so much so that I decided to give another donation to the Obama-Biden campaign, in his honor. Just fantastic – what a class act!

  

Senator (and former Governor) Jeanne Shaheen gave a rousing and blessedly short introduction to the President, including a great line about “not needing binders full of women because we have ballots full of women.” 

Then, voilá, there was President Obama, right in front of us, with that megawatt smile!  (Sorry, photos here aren't great because I had to take pictures with camera held with one hand, high above my head, and I couldn't see what I was doing!)  He made a great closing argument, emphasized that has kept his promises, kept the country safe, honored our veterans, and worked to level the playing field; argued that we cannot go back to the policies that got us into the financial mess.  He made an impassioned plea that the inalienable rights of Americans apply to us all (black, white, Hispanic, gay, straight, man, woman...) and argued that politicians should not make health care decisions for women.  He included a new riff detailing how Romney cut taxes for 278 ultra-wealthy families while he raised fees on everyone when he was Governor of Massachusetts.  He highlighted how certification fees to become a barber or a nurse went up, fees on gas, fees on milk, fees on the blind, along with fees at the state colleges and universities, and then the best part – how Romney increased fees on birth certificates (“which would have been expensive for me”), marriage certificates and for funerals and burials – literally “cradle to grave fees” that hit everyone in Massachusetts.  (Here is the excellent new campaign ad on Romney's fees.)  He made a strong plea that he will continue to fight for NH and he asked NH to stick with him.  

Here is the C-Span video of the rally.  I was really interested to see the after-speech interactions with the crowd (most of which I could not see at the time, but my part of the crowd did show up around the 35-38 minute mark (I was near where Joe Scarborough was standing, if you spot him).  It must be so exhausting and energizing at the same time!  He is truly a man of the people.

Countdown to Election 2012: Week Seven in Review

I was stupid.  I was wrong.  I was punked!  The ridiculous notion had actually crossed my mind that there couldn't possibly be a major follow-on to Romney's devastating Week Eight.  Well, I admit it: my gast was so flabbered when I got online early last Tuesday morning that  my computer found itself in grave danger of having two eyeballs popping their sockets and plastering sclera and cornea guts all over the monitor.

Lesson learned: Never underestimate the inelegance of Mitt Romney. 

In Memoriam: Compassionate Conservatism 

It had been on life support for some years and took a dramatic turn for the worse in 2010.  Today, the idea that conservatives in this country are even remotely concerned about half of the Americans in this great country died a quiet death when Mitt Romney showed that he would be president of One Percent of our citizens all the time, Fifty-Two Percent once in a while, and Forty-Seven Percent never.  

Romney reasons with his privileged Tea Partier intellect and speaks out of his posterior orifice.  He has been roundly criticized for his decided lack of diplomatic skills and knowledge of foreign relations during his failed European trip; lambasted for his scandalous rush-to-judgment mentality over the tense situation in Libya; and widely condemned for his remarks over how he sees nearly half of U.S. citizens.  And ninety percent of the criticism is from his own party.

It was conservative David Brooks who wrote of Romney, he really doesn't know much about the country he inhabits … doesn't know much about the culture of America ... doesn't know much about the political culture ... knows nothing about ambition and motivation, and that his interpretation of how the country works is a country-club fantasy.  Alex Castellanos, a Republican strategist who worked closely with Romney on his 2008 presidential campaign, said, He was talking about the electorate as if it were a ledger sheet. It diminishes him.  Yes, Alex, it also diminishes the American people to be reduced to emotionless data points.

Liberal Paul Krugman who, unlike Paul Ryan, is a real economist, wrote recently about the call from Republicans for Romney to change course:  The truth is that Romney based his whole campaign on the belief that he could blur his way to the White House, mouthing right-wing slogans, fudging the math, and counting on voter disillusionment with Obama to do the rest.  Now that this doesn't seem to have worked, he has no plan B.  Don't you hate it when that happens?

The damning tape obtained by James Carter IV and published online by Mother Jones is Mitt Romney's blueprint for governing this country were he to be elected president.  This is no longer a Let them eat cake campaign; now it has now been revealed that this is a Fuck ‘em all Plutocracy-in-the-making campaign.

I actually waited the Biblically required three days and no resurrection of Compassionate Conservatism occurred.

Has Mitt Romney never learned the Be careful what you wish for lesson?  While attempting to quell the growing backlash from his inelegantly stated dismissal of forty-seven percent of the electorate by going on the offensive and declaring that we need a discussion on dependency in this country, he made the rash comment that instead of just selected clips, he wished they would release the whole tape. And of course, Mother Jones promptly and gleefully obliged him. 
  
So America was treated to almost fifty minutes of the true Mitt Romney, complete and unabridged.  It was very revealing and very ugly.

*Mitt's cognition-challenged vision on geopolitical issues closely resembled the old joke about an uninformed speaker who greeted his audience with: Ladies and jelly spoons, I come before you to stand behind you to tell you something I know nothing about. One example: The Palestinians have no interest whatsoever in establishing peace ... the pathway to peace is almost unthinkable to accomplish. You hope for some degree of stability, but you recognize that this is going to remain an unsolved problem and we kick the ball down the field and hope that ultimately, somehow, something will happen and resolve it.  Somehow,  I don't believe that tossing a penny in the old wishing well is a very good foreign policy plan.  As Johann Wolfgang von Goethe said, There is nothing more frightful than ignorance in action.

*While Romney believes that Republicans can capture the women's vote [heh] and entirely thumbs his nose at African American voters, he now thinks Hispanics are a threat to country: We’re having a much harder time with Hispanic voters. And if the Hispanic voting bloc becomes as committed to the Democrats as the African American voting bloc has in the past, why we’re in trouble as a party and, I think, as a nation.  Of course, there are many Republicans who agree with Mitt, such as Lindsey Graham who said recently, We’re not generating enough angry white guys to stay in business for the long term.

*It's pretty obvious that the $50,000 donors attending this shindig only read the financial section of the paper because they're just not keeping up with the news these days.  One thinks Nancy Pelosi is still Speak of the House, saying: Nancy Pelosi, who was supposed to give us an honest Congress, has given us just the opposite as speaker. And I think that’s a campaign issue that can work well. I’m optimistic that you’ll be elected president, and my recommendation would be to clean house immediately.  Duh...

*Another said he believes Romney should invent a scenario like Reagan had and get tough on Iran because that's what Ronnie did.  This fool has obviously forgotten that Reagan is the president who sold arms to that country in 1985.  That little fiasco was lovingly called the Iran-Contra  Affair.

Moving On...

*In what obviously seemed like a super deal for the Republican Party, unemployed Rick Santorum assured an audience at the Values Voter Summit that conservatives will never have the elite, smart people on our side.  You're half right, Rick; you've got the elite people, we've got the smart people.  It's a deal we can live with.

*Mitt admitted that his tax plan is based on a Fox News lie that's been debunked many times.  

*Paul Ryan dragged his seventy-eight-year-old mommy along to protect him from those gray-haired meanies at the AARP annual convention.  When he told attendees that repealing Obamacare would lead to a stronger Medicare, many booed, called him a liar, and walked out.  You lying idiot; seniors are not stupid, you know.   

*In a charming game of Can you top this hypocrisy?  John Sununu on Fox News defended Romney against detractors because it is President Obama’s very deliberate attempt to do class warfare as part of his campaign strategy.   

*Never one to let an opportunity go by to show his flip-flopping stupidity, Romney appeared on 60 Minutes this past Sunday night and said that people who don't have health insurance need not be concerned if they have a heart attack because We pick them up in an ambulance, and take them to the hospital [emergency room], and give them care.  However, as the Huffington Post points out, Romney ...passed a universal health care law in Massachusetts, in part, to eliminate the costs incurred when the uninsured show up in emergency rooms for care. Indeed, in both his book and in high-profile interviews during the campaign, Romney has touted his achievement in stamping out these inefficiencies while arguing that the same thing should be done at the national level.  Meanwhile, the Affordable Healthcare Act is being quietly implemented by GOP officials in several states. 

  
King Mitt and Queen Ann Have Come Unglued

Personally, had I just had my ass kicked, I would have gone to Margaritaville to salve my wounds. But Ann and Mitt took their snit to Pitch a Shit-fit City after the terrible, horrible, no-good, very bad week they'd just lived through.  

*In the Gospel According to Ann Romney, Chapter 1:1 Percent, Republicans critical of her husband should Stop It! because Mitt has sacrificed himself on the alter of the Republican Party and those not in the ring should prostrate themselves before him in worshipful faithfulness because the campaign is hard for her.  If you love someone, you see them maligned, attacked … you get very defensive.  Got that?  As Politicususa put it so succinctly, You People had better stop maligning Mitt Romney with his own words!  In fact, trying to make Mitt look like a real human being is such an ordeal for Ann that she has canceled all interviews for the near future -- or forever, perhaps.  I guess she needs to go ride her $77,000 tax deduction around the parade ring for a couple of weeks.

*Mitt got his sacred undies in a swivet before appearing on the Hispanic network Univision Town Hall because while introducing him to the audience, one of the anchors noted that the Republican candidate had agreed to give the network 35 minutes, and that Obama had agreed to a full hour the next night.  Romney refused to come out on the stage and instead demanded that the introduction be re-taped in such a manner that it did not include the time frames during which each candidate would speak.  But that's not all, folks!  Earlier Romney had threatened to scrap the whole interview if the campaign was not allowed to override the students-only rule and bus in some supporters to fill out the seats and root loudly for their guy.  I kid you not.  

It almost makes you break out in a cold sweat to realize that Mitt Romney is the best candidate the Republicans could round up for 2012.

The first Presidential Debate will be held next Wednesday, October 3, at the University of Denver,  moderated by Jim Lehrer of PBS, at 9:00 PM Eastern Time.  

According to the Commission on Presidential Debates: 

The debate will focus on domestic policy and be divided into six time segments of approximately 15 minutes each on topics to be selected by the moderator and announced several weeks before the debate.

The moderator will open each segment with a question, after which each candidate will have two minutes to respond. The moderator will use the balance of the time in the segment for a discussion of the topic.

President Obama: Does he like people or not?

John Heilemann was interviewed during the 2012 DNC Convention by Kelly Candaele. The topic was the differences between President Obama and former President Bill Clinton.

JH: Obama is an unusual politician. There are very few people in American politics who achieve something — not to mention the Presidency —in which the following two conditions are true: one, they don’t like people. And two, they don’t like politics. KC: Obama doesn’t like people? JH: I don’t think he doesn’t like people. I know he doesn’t like people. He’s not an extrovert; he’s an introvert.

I’ve known the guy since 1988. He’s not someone who has a wide circle of friends. He’s not a backslapper and he’s not an arm-twister. He’s a more or less solitary figure who has extraordinary communicative capacities. He’s incredibly intelligent, but he’s not a guy who’s ever had a Bill Clinton-like network around him. He’s not the guy up late at night working the speed dial calling mayors, calling governors, calling CEOs. People say about Obama that it’s a mistake that he hasn’t reached out more to Republicans on Capitol Hill. I say that may be a mistake, but he also hasn’t reached out to Democrats on Capitol Hill. If you walk around [the convention] and button-hole any Democratic Senator you find on the street and ask them how many times they have received a call [from the President] to talk about politics, to talk about legislative strategy, I guarantee you won’t find a lot of people who have gotten one phone call in the last two and a half years. And many of them have never been called.

 I’m not a psychologist, so I don’t know what the root of that is. People have theories about it. But I know in practice he is a guy who likes to operate with a very tight circle around him, trusts very few people easily or entirely. He ran his campaign that way in 2008, he runs his White House that way, and he’s running his campaign that way in 2012. President Obama just doesn’t talk to too many people.

So according to John, Barack Obama who won the 2008 election for President with 365 electoral votes over John McCain who received 173 electoral votes and Obama also received the most votes ever  in American history for the popular vote does not like people nor politics. But hey, he is a great communicator.

 It’s okay, I’ll wait while until you are done banging your head against your desk and the stars are done circling your head.

All of the above pictures as well as this one shows President Obama to be a very caring and empathic person who enjoys meeting and interacting with people. A person would have to have been living totally off the grid aka Fox News Viewer to not know that our President Obama has no problem interacting with people on a personal level and real level.

A person cannot fake the emotions that are on display in this picture.

 I think John needs to read this article  Michael Lewis Profile of Barack Obama. Click on the link and read the whole article it is quite an eye-opener. Here is a couple highlights:

Why doesn’t he show more emotion? He does this on occasion, even when I’ve put the question clearly—see in what I’ve asked some implicit criticism, usually one he’s heard many times before. As he’s not naturally defensive, it’s pretty clearly an acquired trait. “There are some things about being president that I still have difficulty doing,” he said. “For example, faking emotion. Because I feel it is an insult to the people I’m dealing with. For me to feign outrage, for example, feels to me like I’m not taking the American people seriously. I’m absolutely positive that I’m serving the American people better if I’m maintaining my authenticity. And that’s an overused word. And these days people practice being authentic. But I’m at my best when I believe what I am saying.”

 But if you happen to be president just now, what you are faced with, mainly, is not a public-relations problem but an endless string of decisions. Putting it the way George W. Bush did sounded silly but he was right: the president is a decider. Many if not most of his decisions are thrust upon the president, out of the blue, by events beyond his control: oil spills, financial panics, pandemics, earthquakes, fires, coups, invasions, underwear bombers, movie-theater shooters, and on and on and on. They don’t order themselves neatly for his consideration but come in waves, jumbled on top of each other. “Nothing comes to my desk that is perfectly solvable,” Obama said at one point. “Otherwise, someone else would have solved it. So you wind up dealing with probabilities. Any given decision you make you’ll wind up with a 30 to 40 percent chance that it isn’t going to work. You have to own that and feel comfortable with the way you made the decision. You can’t be paralyzed by the fact that it might not work out.” On top of all of this, after you have made your decision, you need to feign total certainty about it. People being led do not want to think probabilistically

Bet you all know where I am going with this especially if you read the entire article. I agree with President Obama cable news channels are toxic and are not good sources of information. On any given day you can turn on any one of these networks, be it Fox News, CNN or MSNBC and you will soon be overwhelmed by the negativity, the constant second guessing and the pure speculation on topics where not a single fact can be found and even the out right lying and fear mongering of certain pundits.  President Obama is also correct when he says people want a leader who does think about them and how his decisions affect them. People do not want a leader who blindly reacts first and then gets the facts later. You'll all know who I am talking about here.

Some people (usually cable news pundits) say about Obama that it’s a mistake that he hasn’t reached out more to Republicans on Capitol Hill. But is it just as easy to make the case of it is hard to work with people who have claimed on nation television every chance they get their main objective is to limit you to one term. Also it would be very difficult to work with those in 2010 showed no loyalty or courage in supporting a member of their own party.

 I'll bet this guy knows President Obama has his back. 

JH/Dusty:I’m not a psychologist,(snark:I just play one on TV ) so I don’t know what the root of that is. Let me enlighten you John, President Obama is just man, he is not a magician nor is he a miracle worker. What is he is the man who the American voters elected to help lead this nation out of the worst economic crisis this country has ever faced while also dealing with all the other crisis that just seemed to occur one after another. President Obama has proven himself to be a leader with acts of compassion, caring, courage in spite of all the roadblocks put up by Congress, the media and also other world leaders. It is time to give the man the credit he deserves and show him some support. Just think of what President Obama could have done if he had been given the support all the other previous Presidents were given. Just maybe John, it is time to  take off those rose colored glasses and view our President with clear vision instead of with your preconceived ideas of who, what and how the man should be.

In 2008 the American voters elected Barack Obama to be the President of the United States. In 2010 there were quite a few American voters who voted against our country and against our President and quite frankly against their own best interests all because they refused to overcome their fear of change.
In 2012 the American voters get another chance to vote. I hope those voters have overcame their fear and are ready to stand up and make a difference to go forward not backwards.
