Dakota Meyer: Fooled Around & Fell In Love (While On The Rebound), Defender of our Flag, Artist & Pedicure Aficionado

Guest Post by KAO

Dakota just can’t help himself – he’s fallen madly, deeply IN LUV with the AMAZING Bristol Palin. She’s that brawl-master from THAT FAMILY of The Great White North, and he is from a “wonderful little pocket of what (Sarah Palin, potential Monster-In-Law) calls the real America” a place Dakota calls home: Columbia, Kentucky. They have an AMAZING thing. They’ve got SO MUCH in common; for example, both Bristol & Dakota like pedicures. They make your feet feel so soft and smell so yummy!

This here’s a LUV match. Made for the ages!  Destined TO LAST. Cause, that’s how love works, ya know.

But wait, it seems with Dakota, he has a habit of fallin’ in love hard, real hard & real FAST, lickety-split quick.

Enter Regan Judd, a beautiful, luscious blond and former cheerleader at the University of Kentucky. She’s also an AMAZING, sweet young thang from the hills of Kentucky, land of Dakota. But she had a problem: seems her heart wasn’t right – good thing she got proper medical attention, and is now a SPOKESBABE for the Go Red For Women people who help other people with heart problems. She is a very lucky girl, now a model of health. There’s Regan, below in the middle. Isn’t she pretty? Isn’t she truly AMAZING? Yes. Yes, she is.

Dakota saw her Youtube video and was AMAZED and SMITTEN with her, as you can see by his tweet:

>

By early November 2013, they were an AMAZING thing.  He took her to the Marine Corps War Memorial Wreath Laying Ceremony, and to the US Marine Corps Ball in Washington, D.C. – They were A COMMITTED COUPLE after only a few weeks! Imagine that – Gosh. That’s QUICK, isn’t it.

Dakota and Regan had a lot in common, too: born and raised in Kentucky, they liked fishing, hunting and both had speaking careers. Regan even introduced Dakota to other worthwhile pursuits, like painting:

Dakota really enjoyed Regan teaching him how to do ART type stuff, but he should prolly stick to his day job, because – no talent. Life was good for Dakota and Regan. They were simply an AMAZING couple:

She did her thing, speaking about her health crisis for the Go Red For Women group, and Dakota did his thing… sometimes, their schedules didn’t always mesh – and that lead to some longing for each other…

Here’s the happy couple over a year later… they celebrated two Christmases together. AMAZING.

Regan & Dakota were still a thing as of late December 2014. And then, somehow - they weren’t.

Dakota met Bristol 3 weeks later, on January 23, 2015, at The Shot Show in Las Vegas, where he & the AMAZING Sarah Palin infamously held the “FUC_ YOU, Michael Moore” sign – Bristol took that photo:

Just 5 weeks later, Dakota hit his knees & proposed to the SUDDENLY-AMAZING Bristol at a Rascal Flatts concert in Las Vegas on Friday, March 13th. I don’t know about you, but that seems like an awfully short time to get engaged to a virtual stranger! I mean, its not like they HAVE to get married – right?!?

Thank goodness gracious, they DO have a few things in common - like getting drunk, having pedicures and beating the hell out of other people. Maybe they can teach each other things. Dakota can teach the NOW AMAZING Bristol how to pull a gun on someone – the same way the FORMERLY AMAZING Regan tried to teach Dakota how to create art – such as it is… and Bristol can teach him how to throw a left hook, and wear $300 sunglasses – at night – while living on a poor single mom’s “on-call when she damn well feels like going into work at the front doctor’s clinic” salary while gutting and remodeling a $500K house. Doubters might question how Dakota went from a committed, one-plus year relationship with the AMAZING, accomplished, college-educated Regan to… Bristol: the whiny, brawling, daughter of a failed Governor. Bristol’s mom, that Governor, who would rather lob spitballs from the safety of her Twitter and Facebook bunkers than actually do the heavy lifting of actually governing. Yes, Bristol – the notoriously lipo-sculpted, nip-tucked, multi-implanted, botoxed beautiful 24 year old Bristol Palin, who isn’t nearly as… anything… as Regan Judd.

But what do Bristol and Regan have in common? Well, they both have a certain media presence. While Bristol’s media career is notoriously behind her… like Gino, stranded on the side of that road, and Ben, and Joey, and Kyle, and and and and and – Regan’s career is Full Steam Ahead. Dakota didn’t seem to have any interest in politics - until he met Regan, who regularly met with politicians and media types, who helped her to spread her message of heart health for everyone. Perhaps that gave him AN AMAZING IDEA… after all, working for a living, suing people right and left and getting beat up by girls gets old after a while. And its not like he’s totally given-up Regan – he still follows her on Twitter:

Now, Dakota has a new way to court the media: he’s hooked up with the media-savvy Palin’s. And he’s Learning The Way Of The Grifters (but for God’s sake – don’t let him anywhere near a paint brush). He seems to be a quick study… why, just yesterday, Dakota lashed out in a furiously Palin-like limp-wristed fashion at those who would DARE to desecrate HIS FLAG (insert foot-stomp here) on FOX News. How DARE they do such things, and call it ART, to our Star Spangled Banner? The cretins. He’s gonna show em. Why, he’s so damn mad about that whole abusing / stomping on the flag thing that he’s gonna write a FACEBOOK POST!  Yeah – that should do it!  Fear the rage of the great and powerful Dakota:

Because, as everyone knows, when Dakota talks about Freedom of speech and the First Amendment – he means it only applies to THINGS that he and certain narrow-minded people like him deems “worthy”. Like FUC_ YOU, Michael Moore, for your free speech that Dakota disagrees with. To hell with YOUR First Amendment Rights, Michael Moore! So there! Our flag is not ART!  (Not that Dakota would recognize art, even if it walked up and said “how-do” before giving him a quick manly fanny-pat, which I think he just might enjoy…) Our art is not freedom! Our Flag is to be cherished!  Our flag is not to be used for anything that is less than noble… anything that is less than… anything that is less… oh, SHIT:

Our flag, as a cheesecake photo prop, on shoes, as a bed & as a shirt. Because, Teabaggers

Good enough for Scott Walker and ‘rill ‘Murikans everywhere – but its not ART, dammit.

Someone had better let Dakota know that the flag being stomped on is probably not the worst thing that could happen to it… look at that poor flag shirt on Scott Walker – EEK! HE’S SWEATING ALL OVER IT!

I guess if Bristol and Dakota are determined to marry, nothing will stop this shotgun wedding. But I do have to wonder if Bristol knew about how quickly Dakota jumps into relationships, how many women are in his past – Regan is just one - and what would they say to her, IF she were to listen to their advice?

Good news: Matt Lewis finally feels liberated and admits that Sarah Palin is an idiot - Bad news: Matt Lewis now promotes other right-wing idiots, and the Koch Brothers are in charge

By Patrick

Good news on Sunday: After writing his "mea culpa" article at the Daily Caller, the conservative journalist Matt Lewis also admitted on MSNBC that he finally feels free to say in public that Sarah Palin is an idiot, that he is not shackled any more, as Sarah Palin would say it:

"Mea culpa", another latin word, and it means: Man, the Republican party has really been taken for a ride.

So, we have good news on a Sunday, and now we can all hope that the world will be a better place again.

It took Matt Lewis 6 1/2 years to realize what most people realized immediately when they first encountered Sarah Palin, but better late than never.

The above interview is very interesting indeed. Matt Lewis admits that a conservative who criticized Sarah Palin in the past was "in trouble", was in danger to get "beaten up". I also find it sweet that he uses the phrase "Palin fatigue", a phrase which is only too familiar to all of us.

In his article and his interview on MSNBC, Matt Lewis pulls no punches. The love affair is over, and from his remarks, it is more than obvious that Matt has been "disenchanted" for a very long time, probably for years. He also mentions Palin's famous bus tour from 2011, when the media was "chasing her bus caravan around the country", and Matt concludes that Palin now is just interested in "attention" and "fame".

But what is the alternative to Sarah Palin? That's where the harsh reality kicks in. The Republican party is now being ruled by nutjobs, and the Koch Brothers are the paymasters in the background. They seem to be in full control of the GOP these days.

Matt Lewis, naturally, has connections to the Koch groups as well - from an article from 2010, in which he defended the Koch Brothers:

"Disclosure: Matt Lewis has previously spoken for Americans for Prosperity,
an organization founded by David Koch."

Also, taking into account that the Koch Brothers are notorious for their secrecy, we can probably assume that the above "disclosure" is only scratching the surface, as far as the connections of Matt Lewis to the "Koch empire" is concerned...but please correct us if we are wrong, Matt.

Just today, Matt Lewis published a new article in defense of the Koch Brothers, in the UK Telegraph - and don't even search for a disclaimer:

So, who are the other contenders? Matt Lewis names them (from 1:45 in the clip): Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, Rand Paul, Joni Ernst. At the end of the clip, from 4:00, he also mentions that people should "now focus on Scott Walker and Marco Rubio."

One really does not know whether to feel sorry, or whether to be angry. The new line-up of the Republican Party, these "fresh faces", as Matt Lewis calls them, is a joke. If any of these people that he mentioned became President, the happy days would be over.

People like Ted Cruz and Joni Ernst are simply dangerous extremists, who surely would in Europe be members of some right-wing fringe party, far removed from the "mainstream". But even worse: All of the people that Matt Lewis mentions in this interviews are just "puppets" of the Koch Brothers, they are all "Koch Suckers", short and simple.

This is not a  secret. As the San Francisco Chronicle wrote two days ago:

Now, any outside group — with unlimited donations from corporations, labor or wealthy individuals — can make a direct pitch to voters right up until election day. The only caveat with these “independent” expenditures is they cannot work in collaboration with a candidate’s campaign.

But make no mistake: The campaigns are well aware of the potency of this outside help. The Koch brothers’ annual winter retreat at Palm Springs attracted aspiring Republican presidential candidates Gov. Scott Walker of Wisconsin and Sens. Marco Rubio of Florida, Rand Paul of Kentucky and Ted Cruz of Texas.

So who are these Koch brothers, who stir so much fear and ire among Democrats, and what is their agenda?

Charles, 78, and David, 74, own the Wichita, Kan.-based Koch Industries, the nation’s second-largest privately held company. They are worth an estimated $41 billion each.

Their overriding philosophy is promotion of deregulation, tax cuts and smaller government. Among their specific targets are opposition to climate change — they are heavily invested in energy — and repeal of the Affordable Care Act.

The Los Angeles Daily News wrote also on January 30 regards the power of the Koch Brothers as a threat for both political parties:

The notion that two individuals with no qualification or popular mandate beyond a fat checkbook now are free to make an entire party apparatus essentially irrelevant ought to trouble both Republicans and Democrats. Since the widespread adoption of direct primaries for state and national offices, the parties have become much more democratic institutions, subject to major course corrections at the ballot box. If ultra-rich industrialists and financiers, like the Koch brothers, are now free to buy a pass that circumvents the modern parties, we’re back to the days of Mark Hanna and his ilk, when both parties essentially were run by secretive back-room arbiters subject to the influence of self-seeking special interests.

In short: We can stop worrying about an imbecile like Sarah Palin, although her legacy as the "folksy demagogue" of the Republicans will last for much longer.

But we really have to worry about the Koch Brothers and their band of puppets, aka "Republican presidential candidates."

The intentions of the Koch Brothers have been known for years. They want to buy themselves a president, and they are deadly serious about it.

Already in 2011, secret recordings from the super-secret Koch meetings were published, which revealed that the Koch's form a coalition of ultra-rich donors, in order to buy themselves a president. In 2012, they failed, but in 2016, their funds seem to have no limits.

Watch:

If the Koch Brothers achieve their goal, to buy themselves a president, then you can say good-bye for example to environmental regulations and effective health insurance. The progress of several decades will be reversed.

The Koch Brothers might be billionaires, but their greed seems to have no limits.

Just a few days ago, I watched on German TV an excellent documentary about the early US industrialists, the "Men who built America." I only found out just now that this documentary by the History Channel won two Emmys, well deserved in my opinion. You should all definitely watch it!

The documentary also tells the story about how the industrialist bought their own presidential candidate in 1896, who finally managed to win the election, through excessive donations and bribes to the media: William McKinley.

Luckily, this excerpt from the documentary is available as a free clip on the website of the History Channel:

Then of course it struck me immediately: The Koch Brothers try to replicate the success from 1896. This is more than obvious, and this should worry us all, A LOT.

It is a shame that intelligent people like Matt Lewis are caught in their conservative bubble and cannot see this danger. It took him 6 1/2 years to finally speak out openly against Sarah Palin. Taking his pace into account, it will probably take decades until he finally admits that the Koch Brothers posed a huge threat to Democracy, and to the welfare and well-being of the "common people" in the USA.

It's a tragedy, and we can only all hope that the Democrats learn from 2014 and get their act together in 2016.

Hopefully the "sub-standard" line-up of the GOP will help the Democrats (h/t ScoutandAbout):

Have a nice Sunday, everybody!

UPDATE:

Excellent new article by Politico, very detailed, worth reading (h/t again ScoutandAbout):

The poll is by no means a definitive assessment of the feelings of the hundreds of wealthy business leaders who comprise the vaunted network created by billionaire industrialist brothers Charles and David Koch. But it does provide an early glimpse into the leanings of a pool of megadonors who are being hotly courted by the field of would-be candidates, and whose checkbooks could go a long way toward determining who emerges with the GOP nomination — regardless of whether the Koch network decides to formally back a candidate.

The network has thus far steered clear of endorsing specific candidates in primaries, but it is coming under internal and external pressures to do so. It hopes to raise $889 million from wealthy backers like those who gathered in Rancho Mirage to push its agenda in 2015 and 2016, more than double what it spent in the 2012 election cycle.

In addition to Cruz, Paul and Rubio, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker paid a visit to the Ritz meeting, though he was not present for the forum. The three-day conference was organized by Freedom Partners Chamber of Commerce, a nonprofit outfit that oversees the vast political and policy network created by the Koch brothers.

Particularly interesting is this excerpt:

The meeting — part of an ongoing series of twice-a-year “seminars” as they’re called in the Kochs’ orbit — featured a mix of presentations on policy, politics and business. This winter’s session included a discussion moderated by conservative journalist Stephen F. Hayes on principled corporate citizenship and a luncheon discussion featuring MSNBC hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski, according to an attendee.

Yes, the famous hosts on the supposedly "left" cable-channel MSNBC now turned into Koch-Suckers as well.

To their credit, Joe and Mika talked openly about this appearance on their show, and they clearly are impressed and actually seem to believe that the Koch Brothers are good people, believe it or not:

You really don't know what is more terrifying: Industrialists who try to buy a Democracy, or a mediocre line-up of candidates, or incredibly naive journalists who apparently lack any political education. In any case: The Koch Brothers need to be defeated, or Americans will be in real trouble.

UPDATE 2:

There are two more clips which I would like to add to this post.

First: In a new segment with Howard Kurtz on Fox News, he and his three female guests now conclude that Sarah Palin was never relevant again after 2008!

The conservatives now basically try to "erase" the memory of the GOP politician Sarah Palin, who was highly regarded within the GOP as long as she was a useful idiot for relentlessly attacking President Obama.

Watch:

Second, Howard Stern did a brilliant new segment about the GOP, who in his opinion has been "hijacked by idiots like Sarah Palin":

The Republican Tea Party: Equal Opportunity Haters

by Sunnyjane

Déjà Vu All Over Again

Hardly had President Barack Obama gotten through his repeat swearing-in ceremony in 2009 when newly elected RNC Chairman Michael Steele (the Republican's we'll-show-you! retort to a black Democrat in the White House) issued a stern warning that he would torpedo the public perception that the Republicans are "a party unconcerned about minorities, a party that's unconcerned about the lives and dreams of average Americans."  Well, that may have been Mr. Steele's intention, but it obviously was not on the GOP leadership's agenda, and his torpedo turned out to be a dud.  And speaking of duds, the RNC ousted Steele and installed Reince Priebus.

Hey, forget what we stand for; we gotta sound "reasonable."
Fast Forward to early 2013.  Election over.  President Obama inaugurated to serve a second term.  Republican/Tea Party/Libertarian heads explode.  Recriminations and finger-pointing ensue: the GOP candidate was too conservative... or the GOP candidate was not conservative enough.  Karl Rove's fantastical fractured figure finagling blamed.

Studies follow:  Ground game ineffective.  College Republicans conclude that the GOP is closed-minded, racist, rigid, old-fashioned.  And even though no one asks him for his opinion, in January Bobby Jindal tells an audience of Republicans, We must stop being the stupid party  ...  We must stop looking backward ... We must stop insulting the intelligence of voters.  It's rather good advice, actually, but...

...less than two months later, Priebus confirms for the country that there's little chance of a change in the GOP by saying that Mike Huckabee should be a model for a lot of people in our party.  Yes, indeedy, the same man who supported Todd Akin, says homosexuality is a sin and leads to polygamy, is against abortion for any reason, and believes that a breeder should be at home with one baby on her hip, one at her breast, and one in her belly.  That Mike Huckabee.

Conclusion:  GOP business as usual.

What War on Women???

The little GOP bitch in pink thinks rape kits have magical abortion powers.

The far-right in this country badly need a war -- any war will do -- to alleviate their own insecurities, and one of the easiest ones to win seems to be their hostility towards women.   They've become very successful at destroying a woman's constitutional right to choose what's best for her, her family, and her own body.  If all goes according to the GOP's plan, Texas will enact* the most far-reaching and restrictive anti-choice laws in the country this week.  It will bring to nearly seven hundred the number of similar laws passed in just the past three months.

*Update: During a nail-biting special session of the Texas legislature on Tuesday, the bill failed.  However, Rick Perry has called for a second special session of the legislature to push the same restrictive anti-choice bill because Texans value women's lives so much that, according to Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst...

In Texas, we believe in regulating vaginas instead of fertilizer plants.
Oh, and since Gov. Oops will probably run for president in 2016,  he's gotta shore up those family-values creds, dontcha know.  [Do you think the far-right Christianistas realize that they actually worship a Jewish liberal?]

While Texas is hell-bent on ruining life for many women in the second most populated state in the country, Iowa legislators have given Gov. Branstad (a far-right pro-lifer) the final decision on whether Medicaid will pay for a woman's abortion.  [Legally, Medicaid can only be used to pay for abortions resulting from rape, incest, danger to the life of the mother, or a fetus so malformed that it would not survive outside the womb.]  So, after the abortion for one of these situations is performed, the governor will be presented with the details and make the decision on whether Medicaid will pay the bill.  Oh, Branstad has assured the citizens of Iowa that he plans to be very thoughtful in making his decisions, even though there appear to be no guidelines whatsoever for him to follow.  Bottom line:  Iowa has completely lost its fucking mind and they're obviously not aware that politicans are lousy doctors.

GOP governors are irrationally fixated on women's bodies and what they do with them.  Over in Wisconsin, Scott Walker thinks it's a dandy idea to perform transvaginal sonograms on first-term pregnancies.

There is no truth to the rumor that I want to prevent the next virgin birth from being aborted.
The governor has no problem with these invasive, medically unnecessary procedures and says,  I think most people think ultrasounds are just fine.  And which most people would that be, Governor?   It wouldn't be most men, now would it?  Just asking.  Oh wait, I get it!  Since Rush Limbaugh never got to see videos of Sandra Fluke having wild sex, I guess Scotty-boy is going to send his good buddy Rush videos of women having transvaginal sonograms.  Perhaps it's the only way Limpballs can get a stiffie going, huh?

But perhaps the most jaw-dropping bill being proposed against women at the moment is the one in Ohio that will require women who want birth control pills to undergo ultrasound procedures and wait twenty-four hours.  You cannot make this shit up.

How about these states pass a law requiring a transpenile procedure for any man wanting a vasectomy or a prescription for Viagra or Cialis?

The Supreme Court Has Just Trod on My DOMA!

Q: How will DOMA repeal affect traditional marriage?   A: Ummm...
With a shrug and a Who cares?, Nancy Pelosi dismissed a reporter's question regarding Michele Bachmann's rant after the high court announced its decision on DOMA and Prop 8 in California: This decision is one that is profound because the Supreme Court not only attacked our Constitution today… Well, that's all you really need to know, because Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) had to school Ms. Bachmann and reporters on that little thingy called Separation of Church and State.  And he did it beautifully.

And in other far-right reactions on the DOMA repeal, Justice Scalia swallowed his legalized argle-bargle gargle by re-ranting his homosexual sodomy argument while Rand Paul believes that the DOMA decision could lead to bestiality.  No, seriously.  As Americablog points out, Rand just compared Mary Cheney’s relationship to sodomizing your pet.  Sweet.

And not to disappoint his faithful followers, the model for the GOP (see above) Mike Huckabee tweeted My thoughts on the SCOTUS ruling that determined that same sex marriage is okay: "Jesus wept."   Of course, the phrase Jesus wept has absolutely nothing to do with gay marriage, but hey, so what so long as it gets the far-right in a lather?

The Supreme Gutting of the Voting Rights Act

While the Supreme Court struck down Section 4 of the 1965 Voting Rights Act (known as the formula section), it made Section 5 (the pre-clearance section) virtually null and void.  As Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg wrote in her scathing dissenting argument,  Section 5 is now "immobilized" without a working coverage formula.  Chief Justice Roberts said that it was the duty of the Congress to address the coverage formula; well, good luck with that, CJ.

I don't know where the Chief Justice was during the 2012 general election, but his ruling that racial minorities no longer face barriers to voting in states with a history of discrimination is naive at best, and deceitful at worst. Our country has changed, he wrote. While any racial discrimination in voting is too much, Congress must ensure that the legislation it passes to remedy that problem speaks to current conditions.  Current conditions, Mr. Chief Justice?  It only took Gov. Perry two hours after the decision had been announce to declare that Texas may now implement the will of the people without being subject to outdated and unnecessary oversight and the overreach of federal power.  You can bet your sweet bippy that there will definitely be racial barriers put up for the folks in the Lone Star state.  As John Oliver pointed out, It takes Texas less time to disenfranchise voters than to barbecue a pig.

End Note

We Americans have our work cut out for us.  Stopping the regressive and repressive actions of the Republican Party and its far-right cohorts will take all of us working hard together.  We must believe that we can do it.

As Nelson Mandela once said:

It always seems impossible until it's done.

Scott Walker Speaks to "David Koch" -- Confirms That He Is The First Domino In The Downfall Of The Unions

By Kathleen

The Buffalo Beast writer Ian Murphy, posing as David Koch, managed to speak to Scott Walker yesterday. He put in the call because he wanted to know who it was that Scott Walker was willing to speak to. Apparently Walker will not speak to Wisconsin State Democrat Senators but he will speak to one of the "Koch Brothers."

In the above second audio Walker appears to confirm that he knew that Andrew Breitbart was sent to Wisconsin on behalf of the Kochs. He also admits that he had considered planting troublemakers in the crowds during the demonstrations but didn't because he might be forced by the public to resolve the situation there.

Here is a link to the post at The Buffalo Beast where you can also find a transcript.

UPDATE

For some reason the links to the Buffalo Beast no longer work. It is possible that the blog is under attack but that is just a guess -- I have no evidence for this.

Here is the original post:

WHAT YOU ARE ABOUT TO WITNESS IS REAL. NO NAMES HAVE BEEN CHANGED TO PROTECT THE INNOCENT. THERE ARE NO INNOCENT.
-MURPHY

***

“He’s just hard-lined—will not talk, will not communicate, will not return phone calls.”
-Wisconsin state Sen. Tim Carpenter (D) on Gov. Walker (source)

Carpenter’s quote made me wonder: who could get through to Gov. Walker? Well, what do we know about Walker and his proposed union-busting, no-bid budget? The obvious candidate was David Koch.

I first called at 11:30 am CST, and eventually got through to a young, male receptionist who, upon hearing the magic name Koch, immediately transferred me to Executive Assistant Governor Dorothy Moore.

“We’ve met before, Dorothy,” I nudged. “I really need to talk to Scott—Governor Walker.” She said that, yes, she thought she had met Koch, and that the name was “familiar.” But she insisted that Walker was detained in a meeting and couldn’t get away. She asked about the nature of my call. I balked, “I just needed to speak with the Governor. He knows what this is about,” I said. She told me to call back at noon, and she’d have a better idea of when he would be free.

I called at noon and was quickly transferred to Moore, who then transferred me to Walker’s Chief of Staff Keith Gilkes. He was “expecting my call.”

“David!” he said with an audible smile.

I politely said hello, not knowing how friendly Gilkes and Koch may be. He was eager to help. “I was really hoping to talk directly to Scott,” I said. He said that could be arranged and that I should just leave my number. I explained to Gilkes, “My goddamn maid, Maria, put my phone in the washer. I’d have her deported, but she works for next to nothing.” Gilkes found this amusing. “I’m calling from the VOID—with the VOID, or whatever it’s called. You know, the Snype!”

“Gotcha,” Gilkes said. “Let me check the schedule here…OK, there’s an opening at 2 o’clock Central Standard Time. Just call this same number and we’ll put you through.”

Could it really be that easy? Yes. What follows is a rushed, abridged transcript of my—I mean, David Koch’s conversation with Gov. Walker. Listen to the whole call here.

UPDATE

Our reader, Bellpeppery, sourced these two tweets from twitter and an article from channel3000.com which all confirm that the article in The Beast is true and that the recorded interview is not a false one:

http://twitter.com/news3jessica/status/40444235941552128#

Walker spokesman Cullen Werwie released a statement confirming that governor was the voice heard on the call.

"The governor takes many calls everyday. Throughout this call, the governor maintained his appreciation for and commitment to civil discourse. He continued to say that the budget repair bill is about the budget. The phone call shows that the governor says the same thing in private as he does in public and the lengths that others will go to disrupt the civil debate Wisconsin is having," according to Werwie's statement.

Update

Mother Jones reports that Jeff Cox, a deputy attorney general from Indiana has called for the use of live ammunition against Wisconsin protesters. Read more here.

wlfi.com reports that Jeff Cox has been fired from the Indiana Attorney General's office. That certainly did not take long -- thank goodness for some sanity.
